Handicrafts are abundantly available

Spread out on this maze of eight-foot rectangular tables.

Knitted scarves, woolen hats, and a rainbow of quilted bags,

The ladies are affixing tiny price tags.

The spotlights are turned on across the aisle,

The jewelry sparkles, the lady anticipates sales and she does smile.

Aromatic candles and nightlights are one gal’s hope,

Another sells fun shapes of homemade soap.

Vintage glassware is displayed oh so carefully,

Oops! One treasure crashes to the floor, bully!

Antique Christmas ornaments, some crafted by hand,

Two-for-ones wrapped together with a red rubber band.

Children’s clothing is sewn from cotton with lace,

Even fun little tutus can be bought today in this place.

Sweet snacks, doggie treats, jellies and jams,

And glass jars filled with canned green beans and candied yams.

The lady to my left sells dolls dressed so pretty

She also promotes a musical porcelain kitty.

Copper craft, wood cutting boards, and wine bottles with lights,

Also bags of caramel popcorn are here for guilty little bites.

Casserole carriers and pot-holders quilted and insulated—

To make gift giving easier--gift baskets ready to give--not to be under-rated.

Buy a chance for a dollar to win a ceramic eagle fountain

Or adorn your wall with a wood carving of a regal craggy mountain.

Unusual items I’ve seen here include a vibrant car quillo:

A quilt folded inside a pocket creating a portable pillow.

There are braids of fresh garlic so hefty,

Vampires beware: these sell for ten fifty.

Colorful cotton kitchen towels and aprons hang

Near Halloween decorations, even bats with a fang.

Iridescent and shimmering are little Chinese dragons;

Also embroidered sweatshirts and warm appliquéd cardigans.

Me—I sell books, the novels I’ve written

Literary art is that which has me wholly smitten.

I love to compose prose; I am a published author

Of Christian fiction; I pray that my readers recognize His Holy Honor.

Goldstone Weddings--the third in my Goldstone Inn series of four;

Inspiration came when I walked through an old barn door.

The stone barn from 1885 has been transformed

The characters—Lucy and Jedidiah—are abundantly charmed.

Son of a Nun is another of my books.

The title and cover often receive second looks.

It’s a mystery, this story about this Catholic nun;

Her long lost sweetheart investigates their runaway son.

I’m writing another—always more and more words

Keep flooding my heart and my brain; I suppose it's absurd

That in this fifth decade of my life I’ve developed a new occupation;

I hope to sell out of my volumes today—I know I’d go home full of elation.
