Romanced then Dropped

It's a sad, sad tale that's often told in movies, but unfortunately the movies ape real life. It's too good to be true.  The popular boy in school  wants to be your friend---but----it's only to meet your best friend who he really likes. Bummer!

Romanced, then dropped.  How rotten is that?

Only last year many national leaders strongly supported and reinforced the views of people that believed that undocumented immigrants should be not allowed to stay in this country. 

Now those same leaders are turning their backs, less than a year later, on those same people whose support they courted.

Romanced, then dropped.  How rotten is that?

Is there a lesson here?  Yes.  We need national leaders who will actually lead and not pander to all our whims just to garner our support.
