I have a suggestion!! Take a Walk....better yet, Take a Hike!!!
I was out at Deep Lake today with my mom, taking a few photos of the ice- covered lake. After 12 days of freezing weather, the temp seemed warm...a sign that the more usual winter rain will be back. The ice has begun to melt already, but it has been an amazing sight to see the entire lake covered...never seen it before. That's the way it is out at Nolte State Park, aka Deep Lake to most of us. My husband and I try to walk the 1.4 mile loop around the lake a few times a week. Sometimes it's for rehab of somekind, but mostly for excercise and fresh air in an ever-changing natural environment. We notice something new or different every time we are out there. It's more of a walk, than a hike....but it's a good place to get in shape for other incredible trails not far from here!! Now is a great time to start, spring and summer will be here before you know it!! Then you can take advantage of the many, many, MANY trails right in our backyard!!! I'll drop by here with suggestions, so you can go today or plan ahead.... :-)
Nolte State Park - 1.4 mi. loop trail. 10 benches along the way. Easy, but 2 short hills on the back side. Or just enjoy the lake from a picnic table or along the shore. Breathe the fresh air!!
