Email to the Editor: Dickson the Right Man for the Job

Travis Beaird voices his support for Darrel Dickson in the City Council Position 2 race.

Let's start getting serious about Enumclaw and vote for a real leader to bring value to the city council. Darrel Dickson brings a wealth of business and community experience to this position. As a business owner in Enumclaw, he was president of the Rotary Club last year and continues to give hundreds of dollars to that organization. He has also supported the Enumclaw Hospital Foundation and the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce not only with monetary donations but also his time.

As a father of six children, he is invested in Enumclaw's future generation. Darrel is actively engaged in the public schools and PTA. Every year the Dickson's provide a full scholarship for full day kindergarten. His property, known as the "White River Camp" is regularly used by youth and scout groups. Darrel has volunteered his own time as a cub scout leader. He gives hundreds of dollars to Young Life and Plateau Outreach Ministries (POM).

It's clear in his words and actions that he's running for city council to serve the people of this community. Right now there is a need to elect a city council member who will bring a fresh perspective in dealing with the difficult issues this city is facing. I'm confident that Darrel Dickson is the man for the job!

Hi, Susan and Lou. We do know that our events calendar has issues at the moment with incorrect timesRead More displaying, and our engineering team is at work to correct this. My best suggestion at the moment is to post a comment on an event with the correct time, if you aren't able to go in and edit an event that you previously posted. Our ownership has not changed -- we have been and continue to be a part of the AOL family. Our intent with the new design is to highlight the great content that our users create and share with the community. We know there have been some bumps with our launch and are working diligently to fix them. We hope you'll be patient with us and continue to share on Patch.
