$10,000 Piece of Equipment Stolen in Vehicle Prowl and Citizen Mistakes Engine Backfire for Explosion in Jan. 16 to Jan. 20 Blotter

Wednesday, Jan. 16

Secure Your Keys: Police responded to a vacant residence on the 900 block of Melody Lane at 3:15 p.m. for a report people were gaining access inside. They were doing so using hidden keys. The keys were removed and the house secured.

Domestic Incident: Police arrested a suspect for violation of a protection order, resisting arrest, interfering with reporting a domestic violence incidence and three city warrants after responding to a domestic incident on the 2700 block of May Court at 5:31 p.m.

Prowlers Seen: Police responded to the 100 block of Leo Place at 8:56 p.m. to a report that two or three men wearing dark hoodies were seen trying to prowl vehicles in the area. They fled east on foot prior to police arrival.

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report at 3:05 p.m. that a vehicle on the 200 block of Semanski Street had its window damaged and $40 in cash stolen from inside.

Friday, Jan. 18

DUI: One person was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Watson Street North at Roosevelt Avenue at 12:24 a.m.

Not Explosion: Police responded with Enumclaw Fire to the 900 block of Battersby Avenue at 2:38 p.m. for a reported generator explosion; confirmed it was an engine backfire only.

Saturday, Jan. 19

Property Damage: Police arrested three people for malicious mischief and assault after responding to the 1300 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 12:18 a.m.

Thefts: A citizen report at 2:07 a.m. that two vehicles in the parking lot of a business on the 200 block of Battersby Avenue had been vandalized and items taken from them while employees were at work.

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report that a vehicle prowl occurred on the 1900 block of Loraine Street at 7:30 a.m. An actuator with controller, valued at $10,000 was taken and damages to the window were estimated at $400.

Possible DUI: Police assisted Washington State Patrol with a report of a vehicle in a ditch on 244th Avenue S.E. at State Route 410 at 6:27 p.m. The driver was taken to Enumclaw police station for testing.

Sunday, Jan. 20

Drunk in Buckley: Police assisted Buckley Police in responding to a report of a suspicious person at State Route 410 and Park Avenue at 2:08 a.m. The man, described as "very intoxicated," was detained.

Cracked Main: Police responded to a residence on the 2900 block of Griffin Avenue at 8:23 a.m. for a report of a water leak. It was found by the water department to be due to a cracked main and emergency resources were falled for flagging and repair.

Theft: Police received a report at 9:36 a.m. that a trailer battery and a five gallon propane tank were stolen from a trailer parked in the alley off the 1400 block of Davis Avenue.
