Charges Possible After Teen Dies in Buckley Car Crash

Survivor left the scene without calling authorities, police chief says.

A 17-year-old Puyallup boy was killed and a 19-year-old from Bonney Lake injured in a single-car crash in Buckley around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The incident occurred near where 112th meets State Route 410. The driver of the vehicle failed to make a turn and hit a power pole.

The survivor did not call for help, instead phoning a friend. As a result, Buckley Police Chief Jim Arsanto said that felony hit-and-run and vehicular homicide charges are possible.

The survivor was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw before being transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Both teens have been identified, but names will not be released because the accident still is under investigation, Arsanto said.
