Update: Jury Finds Fraser Guilty

Update Wednesday, May 29: The Courier-Herald reports the jury has found Enumclaw pastor Malcolm Fraser guilty on all charges. Fraser is charged with two counts of first-degree rape of a child and two counts of first-degree molestation.

The jury in the trial of Sound Doctrine Church pastor Malcolm Fraser began deliberations Tuesday after both side presented closing arguments.

The Courier-Herald provides a summary of both arguments plus the state's rebuttal in this update Tuesday evening.

Fraser is charged with two counts of first-degree rape of a child and two counts of first-degree molestation. Enumclaw Police Detective Grant McCall found probable cause for Fraser's arrest in March 2012 stemming from a report police received from Child Protective Services about inappropriate contact with a minor that reportedly occurred between 2005 and 2006. Fraser is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a girl who was between 10 and 11 years old at the time.

The start of the trial had been continued several times since Fraser plead not guilty in April 2012. In December 2012, his defense team alleged police misconduct and bias in the processing of the case.
