Driver Killed in Accident Wednesday Outside Enumclaw Ran Stop Sign

The King County Sheriff's Office said Monday that Jay Reagan, 28, of Enumclaw, was also not wearing a seat belt when he failed to slow or stop to yield to traffic.

No evidence of drugs or alcohol was found to have played a part in the that killed a 28-year-old man last Wednesday, March 21 outside Enumclaw, the King County Sheriff's Office said today.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Jay Reagan, of Enumclaw.

Reagan was reportedly driving a 1982 Ford pickup truck northbound on 228th Avenue S.E. around 7:11 p.m. on Wednesday as a 2009 Cadillac was headed eastbound on S.E. 448th Street, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West.

Though there are stop signs on 228th Avenue S.E., Reagan failed to slow or stop and yield to traffic on S.E. 448th Street when he collided with the Cadillac, she said.

Reagan was not wearling a seatbelt and was partially ejected. He died at the scene from blunt force injuries sustained to the head, neck, torso and extremities, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

The 34-year-old man driving the Cadillac, also from Enumclaw, sustained injuries as well.
