Enumclaw Fire Department Seeking Candidates for Commissioner Seat

The Enumclaw Fire Department is looking to fill its commissioner seat (Position #3).

Editor's note: The following press release was issued by the Enumclaw Fire Department on Wednesday. The candidates will be interviewed by a panel during the appointment process. Former Commissioner Chris Ingham's resignation was effective June 10.

King County Fire District #28 would like to announce the opening for Fire Commissioner (position #3). Due to the recent resignation of one of our fire commissioners, effective June 10, 2013, we are seeking to fill this position. 

This position is an “appointed position” with the term expiring on Dec. 31, 2015.

Continued service in this position, will require the person filling it to run on the 2015 ballot for re-election.

You must be a registered voter residing within boundaries of the District.

Please submit a Letter of Interest, along with a 1 page resume, by 4 p.m. on July 11, 2013. These may be dropped off or mailed to the Headquarters station at 1330 Wells St., Enumclaw, WA.

Application packets will be reviewed; then selected finalists will be called to come for an interview on July 22-24. We are hopeful to fill this position by July 31, 2013; Aug. 31 at the latest.

THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS:

The board of commissioners is responsible for governing the operations of the District. The board will generally be responsible for the following areas:

  1. Determining levels of service and establishing goals.
  2. Determining type and level of funding, approve budgets, tax levies.
  3. Establishing policies and approve operational procedures.
  4. Employing key personnel, supervising chief.
  5. Guiding strategic planning.
  6. Representing the District to public.

OTHER INFORMATION:
  • Commissioner meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 10am.
  • Commissioners are paid a nominal fee per meeting.
