  • Keep a 3 foot radius clear around your grill. Designate this as a “no play zone” for children and pets.
  • Before grilling, position your grill away from the house, deck railing, overhanging eaves, or tree branches.
  • Propane and charcoal grills are for outdoor use only. If used inside, they could expose your family to toxic carbon monoxide, as well as pose a serious fir risk.
  • Do not wear loose fitting clothing while grilling. If your clothes do catch fire, remember to Stop, Drop and Roll
  • Always use long handled grilling tools so your hands stay far away from the flame.
  • Never leave a grill unattended

Especially for Charcoal Grills

  • Only use proper (approved) starter fluid on your charcoal and store it out of the reach of children.
  • Never add lighter fluid to hot coals.
  • Keep matches and lighters out of reach of children and teach them to tell an adult if they see matches or lighters.
  • Properly dispose of hot coals by dousing them with water and stirring to ensure that the fire is completely out. Always use a metal container to dispose of coals or ashes.

Especially for Propane (Natural Gas) Grills

  • Always check the connection between the tank and the fuel line.
  • Make sure tubes are not blocked or plugged and that the hose is not leaking.
  • To check for leaks use a spray bottle with a light soap and water solution to the hose and connections; if bubbles are present, you have a leak, turn off your grill and do not use it again until the leak has been repaired.
  • If you smell gas while cooking move away from the grill and call the fire department immediately; do not ry to move the grill.

Just a few quick tips to help you enjoy the next few months outdoors, enjoy your summer and STAY SAFE!
