Thursday, June 27

Traffic Stop: Around 1:47 a.m., police arrested the driver for third-degree DWLS during a traffic stop near Roosevelt Avenue and Monroe Avenue. The driver was also driving without an ID.

Suspicious Person: Around 8:08 a.m., a park employee found remains of stripped copper wire in the dumpster in the 45200 block of 284th Avenue SE. Extra patrol requested.

Fight: Around 3:14 p.m., police responded to Montgomery Park regarding a fight in progress involving two teenage males. Subjects left the scene prior to the officer's arrival. One male was taken into custody for MIP.

Juvenile Problem: Around 6:53 p.m., police responded to a group of juveniles running back and forth across SR 410 and dodging traffic in the 500 block of Roosevelt Avenue. Subjects were contacted and warned to leave the area.

Friday, June 28

Traffic Stop: Around 7:36 a.m., traffic stop near Garfield Street and Kibler Avenue resulted in driver being arrested on warrants out of Buckley, Auburn and Bonney Lake as well as driving on a suspended license.

Traffic Stop: Around 4:04 p.m., the officer issued a citation for third-degree DWLS during a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Griffin Avenue.

Malicious Mischief: Around 4:14 p.m., police responded to a vehicle keyed at the Expo Center.

Theft: An unknown suspect(s) stole climbing gear valued at $200 from a vehicle in the 3200 block of Garfield Street. The incident occurred on June 26.

Saturday, June 29

Motor Vehicle Accident: Around 3:53 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run incident in the 3000 block of Porter Street. Witnesses said a flatbed work truck with white cab hit a speed sign and cable box at the location then left the scene northbound on Porter Street. Officer located the car on Harding Street. The driver admitted to damaging the sign and agreed to pay the city back for damages.

OSA Assist: Around 5:16 p.m., a tree caught on fire next to a residence in the 3200 block of Phillips Avenue. No other structure damage were reported.

Warrant Assist: Around 5:30 p.m., a male subject with Department of Corrections warrant for escape from community custody turned himself in at the Police Department.

Juvenile Problem: Around 8:12 p.m., police responded to two juveniles doing target practice with the bow and pellet guns in the 2100 block of Grand Fir Drive. The subjects were warned to cease the activity until they had an appropriate backstop for the target. Their parents were also notified.

Sunday, June 30

OSA Assist: Around 3:06 a.m., officers responded to assist Buckley Police Department with a domestic violence in progress. One woman was arrested.

Theft: Around 6:13 p.m., police received a report of battery stolen from a vehicle that was parked in front of the house in the 3100 block of Harding Street. The value of battery was $125.

Fireworks: Around 8:38 p.m., residents in the 1200 block of Marion Street heard loud explosion that shook the windows in the area. Police searched the surrounding streets but found nothing. They believe someone had ignited illegal fireworks.

Animal Complaint: Around 8:44 p.m., police responded to a report of two small dogs locked in a car with windows rolled up in a parking lot in the 100 block of Roosevelt Avenue. The officer located the owner and advised the owner to make other arrangements for the animals.
