Firefighters Contain Wind-fueled Brush Fire Near Hospital

No cause has been determined as to what sparked a brush fire in Enumclaw Monday afternoon.

A cause has yet to be determined for a brush fire that was reported behind the 2500 block of Cole Street in Enumclaw Monday afternoon, shortly before 5 p.m., a Enumclaw/Fire District No. 28 official said.

The effort to contain the fire was exacerbated by high winds along with dense shrubs in the area, department spokesperson Carina Davis said.

Firefighters from Buckley assisted in the response and in all, it took 15 to 20 firefighters to extinguish the blaze, Davis said.
