Firefighters Respond to Heavy Smoke at Gamblin Truck Center, No Fire Found

Enumclaw firefighters responded to the call Wednesday morning but found the smoke was due to a malfunctioning waste oil-burning furnace.

Heavy smoke could reportedly be seen coming from Gamblin Truck Center Wednesday morning around 8:15 a.m., but there was no fire found at the location, according to an Enumclaw Fire Department press release.

Crews responded to the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue and upon entry found the smoke was caused by a waste oil-burning furnace which had malfunctioned due to excessive oil, and therefore all the fuel wasn’t burning properly.

Regardless, crews prepared a water supply to gain entry to the building and reminded citizens in the press release:

We would like to take this opportunity to inform drivers if you see a hose line in operation, do not drive over it. It will cut off our water supply to a fire, and secondly, it can damage our hose. This will put our hose out of service until it has been tested.
