Four Injured in Kummer Bridge Accident Wednesday

Enumclaw firefighters were dispatched to the scene at about 10:50 a.m. for a report of a two-car accident.

Four people sustained minor injuries following an accident on State Route 169 at Kummer Bridge Wednesday morning.

Enumclaw firefighters were dispatched to the scene at about 10:50 a.m. for a report of a two-car accident, according to a department press release. A full size pickup truck pulling a trailer was traveling southbound across the bridge when the truck and trailer crossed the center line. 

After striking the guardrail, the truck flipped onto its side and the trailer became dislodged from the truck. The full size truck grazed the driver’s side of an oncoming pickup truck and then ended back in the southbound lane. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own and he had minor injuries. Three injured passengers from the vehicle that was struck, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Members from King County Sheriff’s office, Washington State Patrol, Department of Transportation, and King County Fire District 44 were present to assist with the scene. 

The road was closed down for approximately 1 hour.
