Jury in Fraser Trial Expected to Begin Deliberations Tuesday
The defense team in the trial for Malcolm John Fraser of Sound Doctrine Church in Enumclaw, who faces two counts of first-degree rape of a child and two counts of first-degree molestation, completed its case this week.
Closing statements in the near-two-month long trial for Malcolm John Fraser of Sound Doctrine Church begins this upcoming Tuesday, May 28.
The Courier-Herald reports Thursday that the date was set by King County Superior Court Judge Lori K. Smith and that it was likely the jury could begin deliberations that same afternoon.
Fraser is charged with two counts of first-degree rape of a child and two counts of first-degree molestation. Enumclaw Police Detective Grant McCall found probable cause for Fraser's arrest in March 2012 stemming from a report police received from Child Protective Services about inappropriate contact with a minor that reportedly occurred between 2005 and 2006. Fraser is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a girl who was between 10 and 11 years old at the time.
The start of the trial had been continued several times since Fraser plead not guilty in April 2012. In December 2012, his defense team alleged police misconduct and bias in the processing of the case.
