Time of Call: 8:50
Black Diamond Fire responded to a 9-1-1 call for an infant that was not breathing near Kentlake High School. The family of the two week old baby was performing CPR when firefighters arrived. The firefighters quickly took over CPR and was able to get a pulse and respirations from the baby within moments. Paramedics arrived quickly and evaluated the infant then transported the baby to the hospital.
Safety Message: CPR is a skill that everyone should know. This baby was lucky to have a family that knew how to perform CPR and was able to help out immediately.

Pet Health: Animal Angels Network donated a set of pet oxygen masks to KCFD 44 on Valentine's Day. This set of three masks will go on a fire engine to help firefighters give pets oxygen during fires or other emergencies. This is the only set of pet oxygen masks that we have in the entire department, and we don't have the budget to purchase any of these kits for any of our other rigs. The kits cost $75 for a set of three masks (small, medium, and large). We want to thank Animal Angels Network for this donation!!! Please contact Tim Perciful at email@example.com if you would like to make a donation for pet oxygen masks
