On Scene Narrative:

*         E92 AND E34 RESPONDED IN PLACEW OF STATION 95 UNITS FOR A REPORTED KITCHEN STOVE FIRE. UPON ARRIVAL I FOUND THE FIRE WAS OUT SO I DIRECTED E34 TO STAND BY AT THE TOP OF THE HILL WHILE I SEARCHED FOR ANY EXTENSION. A HEAT GUN, THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA WERE BOTH USED AT THE STOVE LOCATION AND ADJACIENT FLOOR + CABINETS. THE ELECTRICAL PANEL WAS RE-CHECKED TO VERIFY THE ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE APPLIANCE HAD BEEN TURNED OFF. FINALLY THE CRAWL SPACE AND EXHAUST VENTILATION DUCT WERE BOTH CHECKED VISUALLY X2 + ALSO FELT FOR ANY HEAT AND NO SIGNS OF EXTENSION AND NONE WERE FOUND. E34 WAS RELEASED BACK TO THEIR 1ST DUE AREA. THE HOMEOWNER WAS ADVISED TO MAKE SURE THE RANGE REMAINED DE-ENERGISED AND NOT USED UNTIL A QUALIFIED SERVICE REPAIRMAN HAD CORRECTED ANY PROBLEMS + DEAMED IT FIT FOR FURTHER USE. E92 RETURNED IN SERVICE TO STA. 92.
Tim's Narrative:

Narrative: KCFD 44 were called to a kitchen fire on March 4th around Noon on SE 318 St, where the resident felt heat and heard crackling from inside their stove. The resident turned off the power to the stove and called 9-1-1. Once KCFD 44 arrived on scene they searched for heat using a heat detection device and a thermal imaging unit. The firefighters did not find any problems but suggested the resident keep the power off to the stove until a qualified service repairman corrected any problems or deemed it fit for use.

This resident acted quickly by calling 9-1-1 and turning off the power to the stove.
