No Bonfires in the City, Burglar Busted and a Theft from Vehicle in April 20 to April 23 Blotter

A roundup of Enumclaw police reports from Friday, April 20 through Monday, April 23.

Friday, April 20

Theft: Police received a report of a theft from a residence on D Court at 10:30 a.m. A credit card and account were accessed.

Soliciting: Police responded to a report of solicitors in the area of Gossard Street at 1:05 p.m. They told the complainant they didn't need a permit and left the immediate area. An officer contacted the white van that they were associated with and they said they weren't selling anything -- just advertising a product. They also said they had a business license and were done for the day.

Noise: Police responded to a noise complaint at 9:29 p.m. at a residence on the 3000 block of Highpoint Street and a report that someone was throwing things over a fence into the reporting party's yard. The matter was settled upon officer arrival.

Police responded to a report of a loud party and bonfire at a home on the 1900 block of Wilson Avenue at 11:09 p.m. The fire was extinguished and the party involved was warned to keep it down; they were also warned about fire codes and no burning within city limits.

Egged: Police responded to a report that a home on the 3100 block of Hunter Court was egged at 9:53 p.m.

Saturday, April 21

Juveniles: Police received a report at 1:24 a.m. that three teenagers were walking on the 1900 block of Garfield Street and throwing bottles at the residences. They were warned to stop.

Driving Arrests: A woman was taken into custody for DUI following a traffic stop on 244th Avenue S.E. at State Route 410 at 2 a.m. A male passenger was also arrested for third degree driving while license suspended and was seen switching places with the driver just prior to being stopped.

Malicious Mischief: Police received a report at 9:11 a.m. that a vehicle on the 1900 block of Wilson Avenue had damage to its brake line, tire pressure released and it was egged.

Theft: A vehicle parked on the 1600 block of Garrett Street was reportedly broken into at 10:46 a.m. Two duffel bags with clothng and an Acer laptop were stolen.

Saw Found: A citizen found a saw on the 300 block of Harding Street and brought it to the police station at 5:34 p.m.

Civil Beesiness: Police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Wetherbee Lane concerning bees being kept in the area; the bees were to be moved on Sunday.

DUI: One person was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on the 400 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 11:44 p.m.

Sunday, April 22

Welfare Check: Police responded to a report of an elderly woman seen walking in the middle of Porter Street at Battersby Avenue with a walker at 1:12 a.m. She was given a courtesy ride home.

Burglar Busted: Police arrested a burglary suspect at a home on Marion Street at 8:26 a.m. after they were seen entering the residence. The suspect also faces druge charges and an outstanding arrest warrant.

Bike Stolen/Found: A black, red and white Schwinn mountain bike was reported stolen at 12:14 p.m. from a residence on the 100 block of Spruce Drive. The owner reported later in the day the bike was found.

Monday, April 23

Trespassing: Unwanted juveniles were issued tresspass notices at 1:27 a.m. outside a business on Roosevelt Avenue after prior shoplifting offenses there.

A juvenile male was reportedly loitering outside a store on Monroe Avenue at 2:26 a.m. Police advised the teen he was no longer welcome at the store.

Noise: Police responded to a loud TV and banging complaint at a property on the 100 block of Pioneer Street at 5:21 a.m. The resident agreed to turn down the TV and stop the home improvement work until later.

Suspicious Circumstances: Police responded to a report of a man acting suspiciously in the 800 block of Mountain Villa Drive at 5:14 p.m. He was asked to leave the private property.

Disturbance: Police responded to a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance in the middle of Johnson Street at 10:32 p.m. He was on medication and was lost; he was given a ride home.
