Noise and Animal Complaints, Fights, Illegal Burning and Road Rage Round Out Weekend Blotter

A roundup of Enumclaw police reports from Thursday, Feb. 2 through Monday, Feb. 6.

Thursday, Feb. 2

Drugs: Police responded to a property on Semanski Street at 1:32 p.m. for a report of marijuana possession. The suspect was taken to the police station for processing and release.

Missing Child? Police received a third party report of a missing three-year-old at a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 4 p.m. The frantic parent reported to an employee that he couldn't find his daugther. After staff initiated a search, they couldn't locate the parent either. The responding officer checked store surveillance with staff and determined the parent must have found the child and left without informing them.

Illegal Burn: An officer noted thick black smoke from an illegal burn on a property on 244th Avenue S.E. at State Route 164 at 5:59 p.m. Fire investigated the fire and the subjects were warned about regulations and to extinguish the burn.

Friday, Feb. 3

DUI: A driver was arrested for DUI on Griffin Avenue at 12:05 a.m. following a traffic stop.

Assault: An assault was reported in the parking lot of a property on Semanski Street at 7:59 a.m. The suspect was taken into custoy, booked and released. They were charged with fourth-degree assault and harassment.

Domestic Violence: Police received a report at 9:52 a.m. of an assault that occurred at a home on Warner Avenue the night before between a woman and her aunt. No injuries were found but information was taken.

Animal Complaint: Police received a complaint at 12:48 p.m. of a nuisance dog behind a property on Garfield Street. All parties were going to work with each other to fix the issue.

Bike Theft: A Haro BMX bike, chrome in color with a sun rim on the rear tire was reportedly stolen from the QFC parking lot at 5:42 p.m. There were no suspects.

Juveniles: A group of juveniles were still hanging out at a park on Riggs Drive East at 10:55 p.m. They were told the park was closed at dusk.

Saturday, Feb. 4

Noise: Police had a loud bass complaint from Crystal Saloon at 12:44 a.m. The responding officer found the music/bass was at an acceptable level.

Fight: A fight was reported in the parking lot of a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 12:57 a.m.

Dumping: A suspicious vehicle was seen dumping items into a parking lot on Griffin Avenue at 8:45 a.m.

Burglary: An apartment on Battersby Avenue was reportedly broken into at 12:11 p.m. Items taken include three rings, a St. Christopher medal and garnets. There are no suspects and no forced entry.

Fight? A fight reportedly occurred in the area of Kimberly Avenue at Farman Street. Extra patrol was requested for the area at 4:25 p.m.

Locked in While Snoozing: Police were called to assist a woman at 5:13 p.m. who had parked in a lot on Battersby Avenue to take a nap but got locked in when it was secured for the night. Though she refused to give her information to the officer, an off-duty employee was able to open the gate and allowed her to leave after being identified.

Sunday, Feb. 5

Had Been Drinking: A man was reported laying on the ground near the play area of an apartment complex on Watson Street at 3:37 a.m. A vehicle was parked nearby with the door open and lights on. The responding officer found the man had been drinking. He was advised not to drive and told the officer he was going to his girlfriend's apartment.

Vehicle Theft: A vehicle was reported stolen from Clovercrest Street at 9:42 a.m.

Fight: A disturbance was reporting in a store on Roosevelt Avenue at 10:34 a.m. When police responded both parties declined to press charges.

Dog Bite: A 10-year-old boy was reportedly bitten by a dog on Garfield Street at 12:23 p.m. The father didn't want to take any action, indicating this wasn't normal for the dog.

CPS Aid: Police assisted with the emergency removal of a child from parents at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 12:42 p.m. The child was turned over to Child Protective Services for admittance into a pediatric hospital for care.

Shoplifting: Two juveniles were detained at a store on Roosevelt Avenue at 1:24 p.m. for shoplifting.

Theft: A laptop computer was reportedly stolen from a home on Griffin Avenue at 3 a.m.; the theft was reported at 3:24 p.m.

Barking Dogs: Police received a complaint about barking dogs on Loraine Street at 5:16 p.m. The responding officer did not get a hold of the resident regarding the complaint.

Monday, Feb. 6

Animal Complaint: Police received a report of loose rottweiler dogs on Michael Avenue at 9:06 a.m. but couldn't respond at the time due to being on a priority call. King County Animal Control was notified.

Road Rage: Police were advised of a road rage incident on eastbound State Route 410 at milepost 22 at 3:23 p.m. The suspect vehicle, a silver KIA with a man and woman on board was reportedly aggressively following the reporting party's car after she tried to merge onto 410 from a side street. The KIA followed her for a ways. The suspect vehicle's license plate information was given to an officer for follow up.

Fight: A disturbance between two men was reported at an apartment complex on Battersby Avenue at 3:27 p.m. Upon police arrival both agreed to return to their apartments and leave each other alone.
