Police Blotter for Feb. 18 to Feb. 20

A round-up of police items from this past weekend.

Friday, Feb. 18

Possible Shoplift: Police were attempting to locate two women connected to a report of a possible shoplifting incident at a business on Monroe Avenue at 2:28 a.m. They were last seen leaving on foot but were not found. It is unclear what was taken from the business.

Kids Smoking: Two male juveniles were seen smoking something at the park at Elk Meadows at 11:32 a.m. It was cigarettes.

Legal Open Carrying: A customer at a business on Wells Street was reportedly upset about his bill and was seen carrying a holstered gun. He wasn't touching the gun or making threats. An officer who responded at 3:34 p.m. found the man had a valid license and the gun was registered to him. He was not causing a problem -- open carrying is legal in the state of Washington.

Kids Playing: Three male juveniles were seening playing in a fenced retention pond at 244th Avenue S.E. and McDougall Avenue at 4:11 p.m. They left to play somewhere else upon officer's arrival.

Noisy Neighbors: Police received a noise complaint from a loud party at a property on Semanski Street at 11:20 p.m. The responding officer asked the subjects to go in for the night. The matter was settled.

Police received a noise complaint about loud bass music coming from The Crystal Saloon at 11:57 p.m. An officer who responded found that the sound-proof shutters were up; he further asked an employee to turn down the bass. While at the location, the officer found that the main noise/bass was coming from a party at Pete's Pool. They were asked to turn down the music as well. The matter was settled.

Saturday, Feb. 19

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report of a prowl that occurred two days ago on Semanski Street. It is unclear what items were taken aside from about a dollar in change. There was no damage to the vehicle.

Police received a report of three CDs being taken from a vehicle overnight on Watson Street North. A key was found broken off in the ignition.

Suspicious Circumstances: A person was seen inside a vacant house on Myrtine Street at 4:17 p.m. A van was parked in front of the house, still running. An officer who made contact found the person was an independent contractor inspecting the house for the bank.

Sunday, Feb. 20

Possible DUI: Police were unable to locate a reported possible DUI at State Route 410 and 244th Avenue S.E. at 12:36 a.m. The vehicle in question was described as a purple Saturn.

Police investigated a possible DUI at a drive-thru on Griffin Avenue at 3:31 a.m. The subject reportedly presented slurred speech and an odor of alcohol. But police found they had not been drinking.

Noisy Neighbors: A neighbor reported yelling in the area of Balke Street at 1:43 a.m. Police found it was a group of people sitting in a hot tub who were talking too loud. They were asked to keep it down.

Domestic Disturbance: Police assisted King County Sheriff's Office in a reported domestic issue at a residence on 248th Avenue S.E. at 9:19 a.m. One person was brought to the police station for holding for King County detectives.

A man and woman were seen yelling in the area of Watson Street North at 9:28 p.m. Police determined the fight was veral only. The matter was settled.

Young Hiker Found: Police had a report of a missing 11-year-old from the Mount Peak trailhead at 11:05 a.m. The youth was located shortly after officers were dispatched.

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report of the overnight theft of a stereo and GPS unit from a locked vehicle on Link Avenue at 1:49 p.m.  The items were valued at about $300. 

Burning Leaves: Officers assisted Enumclaw Fire with reports of a possible structure fire at 432nd Avenue S.E. at 2:23 p.m. It was found to be burning leaves.

Youth and Drugs: One juvenile was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after officers responded to a report of juveniles getting on a front loader in the area of Railroad Street and Stevenson Avenue at 7:55 p.m. They were later released.

Neighbors on Alert: A resident on Clovercrest Street reported at 9:16 p.m. that another neighbor had seen a male subject in her backyard earlier in the day and didn't know who he was. Extra patrols were requested.
