Police Blotter for Feb. 25 to Feb. 27

Several domestic issues, DUI arrests and more noise complaints for Crystal Saloon round out this weekend's police reports.

Friday, Feb. 25

Assault/Domestic Violence: Two people were reportedly assaulted at a property on Porter Street at 10:04 a.m. No weapons were involved and no aid was required though both victims sustained scratch marks. The suspect, who had already left the scene, was believed to be the former girlfriend of one of the victims. At 9:28 p.m. she made contact with police indicating she was the victim in the assault. Her statement was taken.

A man was reportedly out of control at a property on Battersby Avenue at 1:31 p.m. The reporting party declined to press charges for criminal trespass. The matter was settled on contact.

DUI: One driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a two-car, non-injury accident on Third Street at Stevenson Avenue at 4:46 p.m. 

Neighbors on Alert: An intoxicated man had reportedly left the 76 station on Griffin Avenue at 8:43 p.m. in a white, small SUV headed westbound on Griffin. Officers responded within five minutes but were unable to locate the man.

Juveniles: Three juveniles were reportedly kicking a gate at Kibler Elementary School at 9:12 p.m. An officer located the three and counseled them. 

Saturday, Feb. 26

Driving Offense: An officer stopped a driver on Griffin Avenue at 3:54 p.m. who was in possession of a license but per the Department of Licensing had an identification card only. The officer confiscated the license for destruction with note of issue made.

Assault/Domestic Violence: A man was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault domestic violence at 5:31 p.m. from a property on Garfield Street.

Neighbors on Alert: Police attempted to located a possible DUI headed eastbound on S.E. 448th Street at 244th Avenue S.E. at 7:30 p.m. It was described as a gold, 1994 Saturn. They were unable to locate.

A man reported a suspect walked by his vehicle on Griffin Avenue at Railroad Street at 7:44 p.m. and then he heard a thump that sounded like the suspect was trying to open the door. He was described as a white male with a grey beard wearing a dark green jacket with a white stripe. Officers did not locate the suspect. The reporting party later advised he was walkding southbound on Cole Street from the 1500 block. Again, officers did not locate.

Police received a report of a group of people looking into an apartment window on James Street at 8:51 p.m. Officers responded to the area but did not find anyone.

Noisy Neighbors: Police received two noise complaints for Crystal Saloon at 11:19 p.m. and again at 12:58 a.m. on Sunday. In their first response, they found the soundproof shutters were up and the officer could barely hear the bass -- there was more highway noise than anything. In the second response, the shutters were still up but it seemed the opening and shutting of the beer garden door was causing the noise issue. Security was advised to keep the door closed.

Sunday, Feb. 27

Neighbors on Alert: Police received a report of a possible DUI sitting in the parking lot at Safeway at 2:45 a.m. The male driver was in an SUV type of vehicle. Officers responded and did not find the man.

Police attempted to locate a reported recklessly driven vehicle on Farman Street at Roosevelt Avenue at 3:48 p.m. It was last seen headed northbound on Farman Street and was described as a silver Porshe Cayenne. While westbound on State Route 410 the vehicle passed multiple vehicles on a double yellow line. Officers did not locate.

DUI: One person was arrested following a traffic stop on Griffin Avenue at 2:49 a.m.

Domestic Issue: Police received a report of unwanted subjects at a property on Jewell Street at 3:28 a.m. One is the reporting party's daughter who was trying to take a child in a while -- she had been drinking. A male subject and the daughter left for the night. The child is staying with its grandmother. 

Dog Complaint: Police received a report of an aggressive rottweiler at a residence on Bondgard Avenue East at 9:52 a.m. The reporting party said the dog, which was tied on a long-enough leash that it could access the street, was aggressive toward their vehicle while they drove in the area and had to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid hitting the dog. An officer made contact, found the dog was not aggressive but will come up to vehicles that stop in the area. The owner will shorten the leash so the dog cannot access the road.

Domestic Violence: A citizen reported witnessing what appeared to be a physical domestic violence incident with malicious mischief at a location on Chinook Avenue at 1:32 p.m. A man reportedly broke a window in a woman's vehicle then forced her inside. Officers responded but did not locate either party or the vehicle.

Theft: A cashier at a business on Garrett Street reported at 5:27 p.m. that they were the victim of a short changed scam. The till was missing $328. The cashier described the suspect as a black man around 35 years old. A second employee later said they were also the victim of the same thing -- provided same suspect details.

Stolen Vehicle: Police received a report from Auburn at 5:31 p.m. of a stolen vehicle last seen leaving Auburn on State Route 164. It was described as a gold, 1995 Honda Accord.
