Two incidents of marijuana possession, one person is arrested for DUI, and a suspected panhandler turns out to be fundraising for a personal cancer walk.

Possession: A driver was cited and released for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffice stop on State Route 410 at Cole Street at 1:31 a.m.Β 

One person was taken into custody for possession of marijuana, in the area of Semanski Street at 1:51 p.m.Β 

Neighbors on Alert: A resident along Loraine Street reported at 9:23 a.m. that people -- associated with a large truck -- were walking around the neighborhood. The responding officer found that they were contracted by Puget Sound Energy to replace power poles in the city.

Police responded to a report of three or four people smoking marijuana in the driveway of a home on Bathke Avenue at 5:36 p.m. They found no evidence at time of arrival.

Police responded to a report of a possible DUI in a white Chrysler headed eastbound on Battersby Avenue at 8:16 p.m. The reporting person stopped following the vehicle and police were unable to locate.

Fundraising, not panhandling: Police received a report of a man panhandling in the area of Stevenson Avenue and Cole Street at 12:20 p.m. He reportedly had been in the area the previous day as well. An officer who made contact found that he was doing a personal cancer walk from San Jose to Canada and had not been asking for money -- only talking to people and accepting donations.Β 

Noisy Neighbors: Police at 3 p.m. asked an out of control man in the courtyard area of an apartment complex on Battersby Avenue to quiet down.

Juvenile Fight: An officer responded to a report of a fight that occurred on Chinook Avenue just prior to 4 p.m. Three juveniles reportedly trespassed from the location.

DUI: One person was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence from Roosevelt Avenue at 8:38 p.m.

Attempted Suicide: Police responded to a report of a woman at a Chinook Avenue address who had threatened to kill herself. They found a wrist laceration on her arm -- she was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital at 9:22 p.m.
