Police Blotter for Jan. 14 to Jan. 16

Two are arrested for DUI, extra patrols crack down on speeders in school zones, and neighbors keep a vigilant eye on their communities this past weekend.

Friday, Jan. 14

DUI: A woman was arrested during a traffic stop at 1:30 a.m. on 288th Avenue S.E. on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Neighbors on Alert: Police received a report of someone in the green boxes on the pipeline off of Warner Avenue at Semanski Street at 8:36 a.m. Officers checked the area and found nothing was out of order.

Some youths were seen gathered in a vacant house on Myrtine Street at 2:08 p.m. Police did not find anyone at the location but did note signs that someone had been there.

School Zone Speeders: Extra patrols have been requested both before and after school in front of Byron Kibler Elementary School for speeders. A similar increase in patrols have also been requested on Myrtine Street as the speeding problem appears to be worse right after school lets out and in the evenings.

Theft: The tailgate off a white Ford Ranger pick up truck was taken while the vehicle was parked at Enumclaw High School at 2:38 p.m.

Disruptive Youth: A minor was reportedly yelling and kicking a fence in the area of Wynalda Drive at 11:39 p.m. The responding officer arrested the youth on suspicion of malicious mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor in possession. While enroute to the police station, he escaped. He was recovered Saturday afternoon after his mother called police to report he'd returned home. He also faces chages of escape and theft.

Saturday, Jan. 15

Neighbors on Alert: Police received a noise complaint for a residence on Division Street at 12:49 a.m. They found nothing upon arrival.

A non-aggressive rottweiler was reportedly loose in the area of Maple Drive at 12:54 a.m. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the dog.

A possible DUI was reported in the area of State Route 410 and Farman Street at 1:25 a.m. Police checked the area but were unable to locate.

Suspicious activity was reported in an apartment complex on Watson street at 2:19 p.m. A resident reported hearing knocking at the door and windows, yelling, and seeing two people carrying a bag as they walked away. Police were not called at the time but will do extra patrol.

An officer responded to a report of two people yelling in the area of Scandia Court and Harmony Lane at 11:18 p.m. The area was checked and the subjects were not there.

A man who may have been drinking was reportedly staggering in traffic on State Route 410 and Roosevelt Avenue at 11:31 p.m. He was not located once officers responded.

Police received a noise complaint of loud music in the area of S.E. 448th Street at 11:55 p.m. An officer checked the area and heard nothing.

Man with Knife: Police responded to a report of a man with a knife who may have been suicidal at a propery on Elmont Avenue at 4:40 p.m. The man was transported to the hospital for involuntary committment.

DUI/Accident: The driver of a vehicle that had reportedly rolled over in the area of Roosevelt Avenue and State Route 410 was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver also faces charges related to drugs and possession.

Sunday, Jan. 16

Vehicle in Ditch: Police and fire responded to reports of a black Yukon in a ditch in the area of 244th Avenue S.E. at 1:05 a.m. No one was found inside the vehicle. It was impounded.

High Water: Officers checking a report of water over the roadway in the area of Charwila Lane and Harmony Lane at 9:39 a.m. found that it was not a traffic hazard and could wait until City Shops was notified.

Theft: A GPS was reportedly stolen overnight from an unlocked vehicle parked on Harmony Lane.
