Police Blotter for March 11 to March 13

A roundup of police reports from this past weekend.

Friday, March 11

Reported Drug Sale: A man called police at 11:23 p.m. reporting that an employee at a local bar was selling drugs -- he then hung up. Police traced the caller's number and attempted to reach him but were unsuccessful. At 12:25 a.m. a man came into the police station and reported seeing drugs being sold at a local bar. He was drunk and also refused to name the bar. The matter was later settled.

Teens in Car: A silver passenger car was reportedly in the middle of Chinook Avenue at 3:27 a.m. Police contacted the occupants, two juveniles who were talking. They were advised of license restrictions and returned home.

Text Message Harassment: A woman sought advice on how to handle threatening text messages from her ex-husband. Police took an information report and she will obtain a restraining order.

Neighbors on Alert: Police received a report of suspicious circumstances at a business on Cole Street at 11:18 a.m. The doors appeared to be locked during business hours. The matter was settled.

Two males and a female were seen sitting on a couch behind Allan's Furniture on Cole Street at 1:11 p.m., possibly involved in drug activity. Police checked the area and were unable to locate.

A resident on Hillcrest Avenue reported at 3:53 p.m. that the door to a neighbor's home was standing open but they weren't home. Officers checked the interior and saw nothing out of the ordinary or any signs of forced entry. The residence was secured.

A resident reported at 8:20 p.m. that there was a strange vehicle parked in the driveway of a neighbor's home. Officers checked -- it was the resident's daughter.

Non-injury Accident: Three subjects associated with an older model, brown sedan were involved in a car versus building accident on Semanski Street at 1:36 p.m. The car hit the car port. There was minor damage to the vehicle and to the property.

Saturday, March 12

Car Tricks: Police responded to a report of vehicles doing 'burn outs' in a parking lot on Roosevelt Avenue East at 1:18 a.m. The matter was settled.

Rock Damage: A vehicle on Garfield Street sustained about $500 in damages due to what officers observed was a rock. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

Neighbors on Alert: An officer was flagged down by a citizen concerned about a reckless driver in a Honda -- possibly an adult female in the area of Cole Street and Griffin Avenue at 3:09 p.m. Officer was unable to locate.

Officers attempted to locate two subjects reportedly looking into the reporting party's daughter's window at a residence on Fell Street at 11:28 p.m. The daughter was not home. The area was checked and no one was found.

Sunday, March 13

Noisy Neighbors: Police received a noise complaint at the Crystal Saloon at 12:40 a.m. that a loud bass could be heard. Officer could hear the bass though soundproof shutters were in place. They were asked to turn it down.

Police received a noise complaint at 3:10 a.m. that people were hanging out outside of rooms and milling about at a property on Roosevelt Avenue East. Police made contact and subjects agreed to go in and keep it down.

Neighbors on Alert: Police assisted King County Sheriff's Office in trying to locate a female who had possibly been drinking and was walking in and out of traffic in the area of S.E. 436th Way and 244th Avenue S.E. at 1:18 a.m. They did not find her.

An employee at a business on Roosevelt Avenue East found the door popped open on the left side of the building at 6:47 a.m. The door was secured by the employee.

An officer responded to a report of a possible building alarm on Cole Street at 11:44 p.m. The area was checked and a ventilation system was found emitting loud noise. The matter was settled.

Assault: A fourth-degree assault reportedly occurred at 1:54 a.m. at a property on Roosevelt Avenue East. There were no suspects at this time.

DUI: One person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Griffin Avenue at 4:20 a.m.

Sign Down: A stop sign on 252nd Avenue S.E. at State Route 410 was reported damaged at 9:41 p.m. A temporary sign has been put in place and King County and state roads advised.
