Police Blotter for March 17

A round up of police reports from Thursday, March 17.

DUI: One person was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop at 1:22 a.m. on State Route 410.

Unsecured Premises: The door to a vacant building on Charwila Lane was reportedly left open. Officers checked the interior at 1:23 a.m. and found wet foot prints but were unable to secure the door. Contact was made to building owner regarding the open door.

Questionable Hit and Run Report: Police received a report of a hit and run at 2:32 p.m. on Roosevelt Avenue and contacted the reporting party. After further investigation, it appeared the damange did not occur at this location; the passenger side mirror was missing from the vehicle and the window was broken. The officer believes the reporting party may actually be a suspect in a hit and run that occurred prior. Information sent to King and Pierce County agencies.

Unwanted Person: A man was advised not to return to an apartment complex on Porter Street at 2:36 p.m. as management had a no trespass order for him. He had initially refused to leave. He was served with a trespass letter.

Civil Dispute: A woman reported her ex-husband was sitting in a vehicle in front of her house on Melody Lane at 4:08 p.m. She believed he was there for child visitation but he didn't qualify at the time per court paperwork. Officer made contact and he left without incident.

Not a DUI: Police followed up on a report of a possible DUI on eastbound State Route 410 from Buckley at 8:59 p.m. Officer found they were not drinking but in a hurry to get home.

Animal Complaint: Police received a barking dog complaint at 10:34 p.m. on Silver Springs Avenue. The owner was asked to move the dog inside. They were also given the phone number for animal control since this was an ongoing problem.

Drug Offenses: A man was arrested for possession of marijuana at 11:34 p.m. on Griffin Avenue.
