Police Blotter for March 18 to March 20

A roundup of police reports from this past weekend.

Friday, March 18

Stolen Vehicle Recovered: Police assisted by Renton and Black Diamond police, recovered a stolen vehicle following a pursuit that originated at 1:01 a.m. on Porter Street at McHugh Avenue. The vehicle was reported recovered at 2:40 a.m. and returned to the owner later that day.

Prowler Arrested: A woman reported someone tried to take her car at 1:39 a.m. from a property on Harding Street. The woman's husband reportedly stopped the suspect, who left on foot. When officers responded, they checked the area and found the suspect attempting to steal another vehicle in the area. The man was arrested.

Vehicle Prowl Arrest: A suspect in a vehicle prowl was arrested at 3:35 a.m. at Harding Street while in possession of a stolen van. The suspect also has felony warrants out from the Department of Corrections and King County Sheriff's Office.

Fire Assist: Police assisted fire units with a fire at the King County transfer station at 10:15 a.m. on Battersby Avenue East.

Assault: A suspect was arrested following a reported road rage assault at 6:39 p.m. on Porter Street and Lowell Avenue. The suspect reportedly left the area but their unoccupied vehicle was found on Griffin at Cole and they were found inside one of the businesses in the area.Β 

Hit and Run: A hit and run accident was reported at 7:09 p.m. in a parking lot on Roosevelt Avenue. The suspect's vehicle, a grey or silver Suzuki Samarai with back bumper missing, was seen driving westbound on State Route 410.Β 

Malicious Mischief: Police received a report of malicious mischief domestic violence at 7:41 p.m. at an address on Warner Avenue. The suspect was no longer on scene and the victim declined to press charges. A neighbor reported there were verbal threats and provided a statement.

Reckless Driving: An officer observed reckless driving on State Route 410 at Semanski Street at 7:44 p.m., then on Warner at Noble Fir. The vehicle was stopped and the driver counselled.

Noisy Neighbors: Police received a noise complaint coming from Crystal Saloon on Roosevelt Avenue East at 10:13 p.m. The business reportedly had a live band on and would do what they could to keep the outside noise down -- the soundproof shutters were closed. The officer reportedly checked the area the complainant had called from and did not blieve the music was unreasonably loud.

DUI: One person was arrested following a traffic stop on Jefferson Avenue at Wellst Street at 11:23 p.m. for eluding and DUI.

Saturday, March 19

Assault/Domestic Violence: A woman was arrested for fourth-degree assault domestic violence A after a State Patrol officer observed the assault at 12:45 a.m. in the area of Roosevelt Avenue at Watson Street North.

A woman was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence and assault at 1:29 p.m. after a physical incident between several people was reported at a residence on Wilson Avenue. No weapons or injuries were reported.

Noisy Neighbors: Police received a noise complaint of a loud bass coming from Cyrstal Saloon on Roosevelt Avenue at 1:01 a.m. The officer reported upon arrival that the noise was a little loud though the soundproof shutters were up. The staff agreed to turn it down.

Police received a loud bass noise complaint from an area resident near the Crystal Saloon at 10:44 p.m., who said this was an ongoing problem. The officer found the soundproof shutters were in place and from the complainant's location, there was some indication of a bass playing, however faint. Officer asked them to turn it down.

Found Keys: A city employee turned in a set of vehicle keys and a folding knife found on the road at Myrtle Avenue at Wells Street at 9:59 a.m. The keys have a flashing key fob and there is a camo-style ribbon attched. The knife is folding style, light blue metallic.Β 

Suspicious Circumstances: An officer observed a person known to have problems acting strangely on Griffin Avenue at 1:06 p.m. The person entered a business in the area and was causing problems so was asked to leave and told to return home.

Possible DUI: Police received a report from King County Sheriff's Office at 6:22 p.m. of a vehicle last seen eastbound on S.E. 424th Street from State Route 169 crossing lanes, passing and going at excessive speeds. The vehicle, described as a silver Subaru, didn't come into town. Police were unable to locate.

Neighbors on Alert: A resident on Myrtine Street reported at 8:42 p.m. that teenagers were hanging around a vacant house on the street. Officers found no one on the property and it didn't appear that anything had been disturbed though one screen was off on one window. There was no entry gained and no damage done.

Inappropriate Truth or Dare: An officer observed people at the skatepark on Porter Street at 9:51 p.m., which is after closing hours. They were advised to find another place to play an inappropriate game of truth or dare. A male subject was found partially clothed at the time of contact.

Sunday, March 20

Suspicious Circumstances: An officer reported at 2:05 a.m. that a female located in her vehicle on McHugh Avenue was advised not to drive due to her driving status and not haveing an interlock device.

DUI: One person was arrested on Griffin Avenue at 2:18 a.m. The vehicle was released to the sober driver.

Fire Assistance: Police assisted the fire department in responding to an attic fire reported at a residence on Semanski Street at 11:07 a.m. The fire was put out successfully.

Egged: A resident on Schmid Street reported at 2:24 p.m. that her house had been egged again.

Possible DUI: State Patrol reported a possible DUI last seen westbound on Roosevelt Avenue East at Farman Street at 7:39 p.m. The vehicle was described as a white Jeep Cherokee without a plate that was crossing lanes. Driver may have turned northbound on Farman but the reporting party was unsure. Officers unable to locate.

Fire unites reported a possible DUI westbound on Griffin Avenue at LaFramboise at 8:27 p.m. The vehicle was described as a Honda-type and was crossing lanes. Officers unable to locate.

Voluntary Commitment: A man reported his recently estranged wife had threatened to harm herself and was driving in the Enumclaw area at 9:44 p.m. Officers located the woman on State Route 410 at milepost 28 and she agreed to be voluntarily committed; she was taken to St. Elizabeth.

Loose Horse: Police responded to a report of a horse on the road in the area of 244th Avenue S.E. and S.E. 456th Street at 11:48 p.m. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate.
