Friday, March 25

Burglary: The gates and locks were reported cut at a property on Roosevelt Avenue East at 9:23 a.m. Unknown suspects appear to have broken into storage containers and stole multiple items including three sets of wheels and tires, a pressure washer and a generator.

Public Urination: Police responded to a report of public urination at 10:23 a.m. on Garrett Street. The male in question was seen wearing a dark blue coat. Police were unable to locate.

Assault: Police received an in-station report of an assault by a known suspect at 11:18 a.m. The suspect was arrested and booked into the city jail for fourth-degree assault and harassment.

Accident: Police assisted State Patrol in a three-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 410 at Blake Street at 11:33 a.m.

Neighbors on Alert: A citizen reported seeing a female inside a van parked in a complex lot on Warner Street at 2:59 p.m. who appeared to be in distress. She was seen getting out of the van and went into an unknown apartment. Officers made contact with the female and other parties; she declined being in distress.

Lost Passport: A citizen reported losing a passport that was issued in Chicago while on a shopping trip around town. If found, please return to the police station.

Prowlers Stopped: A resident reported two males who were seen climbing on the back fence of a property on Semanski Street at 10:35 p.m. The husband yelled at them and they got down and ran westbound across the street. One was seen wearing a white t-shirt and one had a dark hoody. Officers checked the area but did not find them.

Saturday, March 26

Loose Horse: A loose horse was reported in the area of 244th Avenue S.E. at 12:04 p.m. The horse was returned to its owner nearby.

Neighbors on Alert: Police responded to a report of someone looking into windows at a property on Kibler Avenue at 12:57 a.m. with flash lights. Police located the subject and they admitted to being on the property but didn't realize they weren't allowed. The matter was settled.

Police looked into reports of a forklift being driven westbound on State Route 410 near Warner Avenue at 12:29 p.m. that was reportedly interfering with traffic. They were unable to locate.

A resident reported a possible domestic disturbance at an apartment on Chinook Avenue at 8:49 p.m. Police responded and made contact but found no signs of any argument or domestic problem.

A resident reported hearing a gun shot in the area of Blake Street at 10:27 p.m. Police responded but found nothing out of the ordinary.

A motorist reported seeing two very small children walking northbound on Farman Street at 10:30 p.m. They told her they just lived in the area. Police followed up and didn't locate them.

DUI: One driver was arrested following a traffic stop on Roosevelt Avenue East at 1:49 a.m. The driver also faced a weapons charge.

A second driver was arrested following a traffic stop also on Roosevelt Avenue East at 2:28 a.m. They also faced additional drug paraphernalia, possession, and marijuana charges.

Unpaid Cabbie: A Yellow Cab driver reported taking a man to his home on Dickson Avenue at Blake Street at 2:34 a.m. He told the cab driver he'd go inside to get money but never came out. An officer responded. The man did leave a cell phone in the cab so the driver will contact family in order to try and get paid.

Juveniles: A male and female, both between ages 16 and 17, were seen smoking marijuana near the Mountain Villa Mobile Home Park Community Center at 6:59 p.m. They were last observed walking eastbound on Dickson Avenue. The female was wearing a pink sweater with a black design; the male was in a dark gray hooded sweatshirt. Officers responded but did not locate.

A resident reportedly several groups of juveniles still out at McFarland Park at 9:21 p.m. Police responded and the groups were headed home for the night.

Assault: Police responded to a report of an out-of-control client at a business on Florence Street at 7:15 p.m. The man had reportedly been pushing and pulling hair of staff members. No charges will be filed at this time -- the family will take care of him.

Noisy Neighbors: A resident reported that a motor had been running all day at a property on Pioneer Street at 10:35 p.m. Police made contact -- the resident was working on a boat motor and is done for the night.

Sunday, March 27

DUI: One driver was arrested for driving under the influence and second-degree driving while license suspended following a traffic stop on 244th Avenue S.E. at S.E. 468th Street at 1:53 a.m.Β 

Open Storm Drain: Police received a report of a storm drain with its cover missing on Lincoln Avenue at LaFramboise Street at 12:12 p.m. It was marked with caution tape and the city storm line department replaced the cover at 12:39 p.m.

Squirts: Police received a report of a brown Toyota that was squirting customers at a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 6:44 p.m. It was believed to be a squirt gun. However, officers located the vehicle and found no squirt gun. Instead, the vehicle's occupants had turned the window washer liquid output to the side to squirt people. It's been fixed.

Expo Center Gate: An officer observed an open gate at the Expo Center at 11:59 p.m. The grounds were checked and all was clear. The gate has been secured.
