A roundup of Enumclaw police reports from Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22.

Friday, May 20

Malicious Mischief: A business on Roosevelt Avenue had reportedly had an agreement with a subject who damaged a window with a cell phone that he'd agree to handle it. However, police took a report at 9:56 a.m. that the subject has not upheld his end of the agreement.

Agitated Man: Police located a man swearing and throwing items around in a parking lot on Griffin Avenue at 11:04 a.m. He was given a courtesy transport by police to meet his son.

Not a DUI: Police stopped a vehicle on Warner Avenue at State Route 410 for a possible DUI at 11:49 a.m. due to erratic lane travel. There was no DUI.

Theft: The neighbor of a woman who has an apartment on Warner Street reportedly admitted to cleaning out the apartment and selling all the property while she was in a nursing home. A burglary report was taken at 12:44 p.m.

Medical Issue: Police received a report of a man acting oddly on Semanski Street at 4:22 p.m. He told police he thought he had heat stroke. Aid was provided and he was transported home.

Harassment: Police were called to respond to a dispute between neighbors on Watson Street North at 6:52 p.m. An officer spoke with both parties and advised them of their options.

Keys Found: A set of keys were found on Cole Street at Initial Avenue and turned into the police station at 8:18 p.m.

DUI: One person was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on 284th Avenue S.E. at S.E. 428th Place at 10:26 p.m. 

Saturday, May 21

Assault: An assault was reported at a property on Chinook Avenue at 12:25 a.m. The suspect had fled prior to officer arrival in a white, Dodge Stratus. Police in Bonney Lake and Puyallup were alerted; the victim was evaluated for injuries. They were able to locate a cell phone number for the suspect. The suspect later spoke to police at 4:39 a.m. and indicated he'd come to the police station to provide a statement once he'd sobered up and can drive. 

Hit and Run: A hit and run accident was reported in a parking lot on Roosevelt Avenue at 3:35 a.m. The suspect vehicle was described as a large, red truck with a canopy and right front bumper and fender damage. The suspect is a white male, early to mid 20s wearing a white t-shirt. Buckley and Bonney Lake police were also advised.

DUI: A driver was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Semanski Street at 12:01 p.m.

A driver was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Roosevelt Avenue at 11:25 p.m.

Unconcealed weapon: A subject shopping at a store on Roosevelt Avenue at 6:45 p.m. was carrying a shopping basket with a handgun and wallet. They were not causing any problems but made the staff uncomfortable. Police located the subject after leaving the store and found they had a valid license; they were warned for not keeping the weapon concealed.

Noise Complaint: Police received a report of loud music coming from a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 11:58 p.m. An officer who responded waiting in the area for several minutes but did not hear any music coming from the business. One of the complainants called back at 12:45 a.m. Sunday to report the music was getting louder. The officer responded again and didn't hear anything driving past the establishment to the complainant's address and didn't hear anything when he was clear of the contact.

Sunday, May 22

Domestic Violence: Police followed up on a call that originated with the Sheriff's Office at 12:38 a.m. coming from an address on LaFramboise Street. Investigation revealed this was a verbal domestic violence incident. The male half was saying away from the residence for the night.

Theft: Police received a report of a theft of a sub sandwich from a property on Monroe Street at 3:29 a.m. The suspect was described as a white male with stubble and wearing a hoodie and BB C hoops in his ears. He was last seen walking toward Cole on Monroe. There were five people total including two women wearing tutus over their pants. They told police they weren't aware of the theft but had been flirting with the guys in front of the station. Police will review surveillance tape.

One person was arrested for third-degree theft, shoplifting and possession of marijuana from a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 8:10 a.m. They had reportedly been trespassed from Grocery Outlet at 9:10 a.m.

Assault: An attempted shoplifting incident was reported at a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 12:33 p.m. The clerk grabbed the merchandise from the suspect, who fled in a red pick-up truck and headed east on State Route 410. Police checked the area but were unable to locate. The Forest Service similarly checked the Greenwater area but did not find anyone.

Suspicious Circumstances: The front door of a business on Griffin Avenue was found open at 3:27 p.m. and there was damage to a dead bolt. A neighboring business owner notified the owner for securing the premises. There were no signs of a burglary.

Bike Race Assault: Police were advised by the race director of the Mutual of Enumclaw Stage Race of an assault that occurred on the race course on Railroad Street at Myrtle Avenue at 4:49 p.m. All parties were contacted and agreed to handle the situation through the race sanctions.

A 16-year-old male was punched in the face by another bike race contestant on Washington Avenue at Railroad Street, according to a report police received at 4:57 p.m. No aid was required and no charges were being pressed -- the situation would be handled through race sanctions and may be related to the first reported assault.

Attempted Shoplift: A man and woman were seeing trying to leave a grocery store on Roosevelt Avenue with $550 in groceries. They discarded the groceries when a store employee saw them and left westbound on State Route 410 in a black, Chevy SUV.
