Police Blotter for Sept. 7-11

Man arrested for lying to police about stolen car.

Don’t lie: Attempted traffic stop led to subject fleeing on foot. Subject left wallet. Later that day subject called police to report car stolen. He said he had left it running and unlocked while he went to Safeway, and it was gone when he came back out. He started walking but eventually was picked up by mother. They went back to campsite to get gear, so he just got home. Suspect was advised his vehicle had been impounded, and he needed to come to the station to fill out a report. Once he arrived he was arrested for obstruction, false reporting and reckless driving.

6 DUIs: Suspect arrested and booked for DUI on Myrtle Avenue and Fell Street. Another one later on Wetherbee Lane and 244th Avenue Southeast. Another one on Myrtle Avenue and Porter Street. Another one on Roosevelt Avenue, along with a second person arrested for obstruction. Another one on Griffin Avenue and Clovercrest Street.

Don’t pee in public: Juveniles urinate in public at Mountain Villa Drive. When officers find them later, juveniles are advised to apologize to complainant.

Reading bible no crime: Officer advised man was lying in grass behind bushes on Wells Street. Man said he was just reading his bible.

No nudity: Man standing on Jensen Street porch without any clothes on. He denied allegation when contacted by police.

Drug stuff at school: Drug paraphernalia and lighter found on Kibler Elementary playground. Items taken by police for destruction.

Officer obstructed: Traffic stop on Highway 410 and 244th Avenue Southeast resulted in driver being arrested on Bonney Lake warrant for obstructing a public officer.

More gas thefts: Gas siphoned from vehicles on Griffin Avenue during night, an ongoing problem for a month. Officer suggested extra lighting and outdoor cameras to prevent more thefts.

Playing bartender: Driver in a white Chevy Blazer just bought alcohol from liquor store at Stevenson Avenue and mixed drink inside before driving away.

Beer stolen: Suspects took three or four cases of beer without payment on Monroe Avenue. They fled in a vehicle northbound on Railroad Street.

Bad driver cited: Person stopped and cited on Porter Street and McHugh Avenue after following too close and shining high beam lights on vehicle since the Maple Valley area.

Fence them out: People reportedly trespass on property next to retention ponds on Battersby Avenue and throw things into water. Officer advised building a fence.

Pipe bomb?: Possible pipe bomb found on Veazie Cumberland Road Southeast and Southeast 416th Street. State patrol bomb squad trooper took item for destruction.

Trespass arrest: Man arrested for trespass when he refused to leave in case involving highly intoxicated teen on Roosevelt Avenue East.
