Police Blotter for July 1-4

Enumclaw officers respond to 28 fireworks calls on the Fourth of July, along with an accident that involves 8 people.

The Enumclaw Police Department did not have a blast on the Fourth of July, but the calls they responded to did involve a lot of fireworks.

Police responded to 28 calls involving illegal fireworks, 33 over the entire three-day weekend. In most cases police confiscated the items. In an incident on Myrtine Street the officer was told there were no more fireworks. The officer threatened arrest if any more were shot off.

Also, Enumclaw Police and Fire District 28 personnel responded to a vehicle collision involving several vehicles and multiple bystanders’ in the parking lot of a closed business in the vicinity of Farman Street and Mountain View Drive. People had gathered at the parking lot to observe the July 4th fireworks display.

One person was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, several were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw, and several others were treated and released at the scene. The driver was identified at the scene and transported to the hospital.

Neighbor hosed: A person reported being sprayed by his neighbor with a garden hose on Willow Drive. He does not want to press charges.

Skateboard attack: A male on a skateboard reportedly threw a bottle and cigarette at a car on Stevenson Avenue and Wells Street. Since there was no damage there was no citation.

Interlock violation: Driver on Semanski Street South and State Route 410 arrested for not driving with an interlock device, as required.

Beauty bark fire: Officer came across a small fire in beauty bark on Semanski Street. Officer put it out and told property owner to wet down the bark.

Yard work theft: Lawnmower and trimmer stolen out of a carport between 4:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. July 2.

GPS stolen: Theft of a GPS and cell phone from a vehicle while parked on Roosevelt Avenue.

DUI arrest: Traffic stop leads to DUI arrest on Roosevelt Avenue.

Droid taken: A Droid cell phone and $50 cash were taken from a purse stolen out of a silver VW Jetta on Southeast 448th Street.  The purse was found on grass nearby.

Weapon confiscated: A dangerous weapon was confiscated on Cole Street and Stevenson Avenue after a report of a recklessly driven vehicle.

Woman arrested: A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being stopped by police on Pioneer Street and Initial Avenue. Husband said damage to driver’s side mirror and window was not there that morning.

Loud horse: A horse left unattended in a trailer parked on Marshall Avenue and Marion Street started kicking the walls. Owner said she would move the trailer.

Suspect description: A white man, 5-foot-11, 30-years old, dark hair, mustache, blue jeans, dark coat, reportedly transferred items from a shopping cart to a canvas bag and left a store on Monroe Avenue without paying. He may have left in a white sedan.
