Sex Offender Charged with 1995 Rape of Disabled Buckley Girl

Convicted sex offender Donald Schneider is to be arraigned Thursday in the 1995 rape of a fourth grade special education student.

Seventeen years after the crime, a convicted sex offender may finally be held accountable for the kidnapping and rape of a fourth grade girl back in 1995.

Pierce County prosecutors have charged Donald Schneider, 53, with first-degree rape of a child and first-degree rape after a DNA match. He is currently serving a life sentence without parole for two counts of first-degree rape and one count of unlawful imprisonment.

Back in Sept. 1995, prosecutors allege that Schneider kidnapped the girl, who was a fourth grade special education student at the time, while she waited for her school bus near her home in Buckley.

According to charging documents obtained by the Tacoma News Tribune, a woman found the girl walking alone near Alder Cutoff Road near Springwater Road and picked her up. The little girl said the man dragged her into his car, drove her to the woods and sexually assaulted her, then left.Β

Schneider will face a Pierce County judge on rape charges this Thursday in Tacoma. He is currently held at Pierce County Jail.
