Shot Fired in Stop N Shop Robbery, No Injuries Reported

Police believe the suspect was male though they were wearing a mask, and a getaway vehicle was involved.

Law enforcement officers were not able to apprehend a suspect reported to have robbed the Stop N Shop just outside Enumclaw Tuesday night.

Enumclaw police dispatch reported the incident happened just before 8 p.m. One person was involved in the robbery and a shot was fired, but no one was hurt, said Tracy, a King County Sheriff's acting supervisor.

A K9 unit was dispatched in the search but were not successful in locating him. Police also believe he may have had a getaway vehicle waiting in the area.

Sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West said Wednesday that a white male entered the business wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and light blue jeans. He was carrying a black backpack and had a handgun. He demanded money from the cash register and fled with the money. At one point, he pointed the gun down and fired. West confirmed no one was hurt.

He was described as average height and heavy-set -- possibly in his mid 30s.

After this violent crime, I wonder if the kids will still go to the "red store" to buy their beer?
