Weekend Blotter: Lucky Friday the 13th for Resident Who Catches Burglar

A roundup of Enumclaw police reports from Thursday, Jan. 12 through Sunday, Jan. 15.

Thursday, Jan. 12

Extra Patrol: A resident on Battersby Avenue requested extra patrols due to someone possibly being outside his window on previous days.

Lost Wallet: Police received a report at 9:10 a.m. of a lost wallet somewhere in the vicinity of Griffin Avenue at Cole Street that contained a Washington state driver's license, credit cards and cash. 

Found Wallet: A wallet and its contents found near Battersby Avenue about a week ago has been stowed with police dispatch while the owner is contacted. Police had yet to be able to get a hold of the owner so a letter was sent to the address on the license found inside the wallet.

Caught the Burglar: A citizen reported to police at 12:54 p.m. that he was parked behind a vehicle on Maple Drive that belonged to the suspect who burglarized his home in which firearms were taken. Police confronted the suspect who admitted to the burglary. Due to location the case was handled by King County.

Drugs: A suspect was stopped at a traffic stop on Cole Street at 1:58 p.m. and found to have marijuana and drug paraphernalia in their possession.

Harassment: A woman who has been contacted multiple times about her lost dog by a subject reports that they continue to fail to show up to meet locations.

Runaway: Police received a report at 8:21 p.m. of a teen who had just left his parents' home on Aspen Lane after attempting to pack his belongings. He was found Sunday, Jan. 15 in an incident associated with a commercial burglary alarm.

Domestic Dispute: Police responded to a verbal domestic situation at a home on Warner Avenue at 7:17 p.m.

Extra Patrol: Extra patrol has been requested in the area of McFarland Park because of a suspicious person who was seen staring at residents.

Saturday, Jan. 14

Noise: Police received a noise complaint about the Crystal Saloon at 12:08 a.m. The responding officer noted the soundproof shutters were in place. The noise level was checked at the complainant's location and the bass could be heard. Police instructed staff to turn the volume down.

Trespassing: Officers arrested a suspect for trespass and interrupting a healthcare facility after responding to a call at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 1:56 p.m. 

Temporary Stop Sign: A citizen hit a stop sign at Watson Street and Bondgard Avenue at 4:59 p.m. A police officer put up a temporary sign but at the time of this publication, that may not yet have been replaced.

Harassment: Police responded to a harassment incident on Leo Place at 8:05 p.m. 

Malicious Mischief: An off-duty King County Sheriff's deputy reported at 10:41 p.m. seeing and arresting a suspect who had driven through a neighbor's yard on Christianson Avenue. It appears the suspect had also driving through a property and damaged a lawn on Victor Street.

Sunday, Jan. 15

Drugs: Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in a vehicle on Fell Street at Marshall Avenue at 12:43 a.m. The driver was taken into custody on drug charges while the passenger was released at the scene.

Public Disturbance: A man and woman were taken into custody for public disturbance after police responded to a call at a motel on Roosevelt Avenue at 12:48 a.m. They were yelling and banging on the reporting party's door.

Burglary: Two juveniles were taken into custody after police responded to an audible burglary alarm at a building on Roosevelt Avenue at 8:33 p.m. They found a broken window and signs of attempted entry. The suspects were found at the McDonalds.
