City Releases 2010 Year End Financial Report

General fund revenues are down but things are OK thanks largely to city staff being able to keep spending within budget.

The city of Enumclaw released preliminary year-end financial numbers to the public today after members of the City Council were able to review the report ahead of yesterday's regular council meeting.

The report reflected the economic downturn in decreased revenues -- the general fund saw a 3.3 percent reduction over the previous year -- but some revenue streams such as sales tax exceeded budget expectations, according to a city news release.

City staff have across the board been able to stay within their respective spending budgets, and further savings were made in leaving vacant positions unfilled as well as scaling back on part-time and seasonal work force.
