Deadline Friday for Candidacy Filing

Thinking of a run for City Council or School Board? Friday, June 10 is the last day to file with King County Elections.

According to the King County Elections office, filing in person begins this Monday, June 6. The last day to file -- in person, by mail or online -- is Friday, June 10.

Several positions on both the Enumclaw City Council and School Board are this November.

To date, according to the state Public Disclosure Commission today, Elfers is the only local official who has already filed to run for re-election.

How to File

In-person:

June 6 – June 10, 2011
Filing opens Monday, June 6 at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. on June 10, 2011. 

Mail:
May 20 – June 10, 2011 
Filings made by mail must be received by the filing officer not earlier than ten working days before the first day of filing or no later than the close of business on the last day of the filing period, irrespective of postmark. Failure to meet the deadline renders the filing invalid and it will be returned. 

Online:
Filings made online for regular candidates may begin at 9 a.m. the first Monday in June and continue through 4 p.m. the following Friday. If you lack the sufficient funds to pay the filing fee and are submitting the filing fee petition in lieu of the filing fee, you must file in person at King County Elections. Acceptance of electronic filings are conditional upon receiving the filing fee. (Reference RCW 29A.24 and WAC 434-208-060, 070, 434-215-090)
