Email to the Editor: Chamber Looks to Partner with City over Visitor Center

The Chamber of Commerce has submitted a formal proposal over how to continue operating the Visitor Center with support from the city of Enumclaw.

The Chamber of Commerce believes that the visitor center is the cornerstone of any viable tourism and economic development plan that the City of Enumclaw has for the future of our community. The Chamber has submitted in writing to the City Administration, The CED Committee, as well as our Chamber City Council liaison, a financial proposal to partner together and continue to operate a thriving visitor center 6 days a week. Without the City’s partnership the Chamber of Commerce and its members will not be able to financially maintain a visitor center open 6 days a week or otherwise. We are hoping to partner together.

The Chamber of Commerce is a self sustaining organization through membership dues and the event fundraisers that we run through out the year, our dinner auction, golf tournament and the very popular wine walk. The visitor center is a separate entity that the Chamber of Commerce has historically run with a stipend from the city. The visitors center does not solely benefit the chamber of commerce but the city and region at large.

The visitor center will remain open Tuesday through Friday 9-5 and Saturday 10-3 as staffing allows.
