Mountain View Fire and Rescue Levy Issue Creeps Along

The district has received enough votes total to validate the election but as of Friday had not yet met its required 60 percent approval.

King County Fire Protection No. 44 has reached its 40 percent ballot return to achieve validation of its four-year levy proposal that was on last Tuesday's special election ballot.

However, as of Friday, it remains 0.3 percent shy of the required 60 percent voter approval for the levy to pass.

To date, 2,295 yes votes (57.71 percent) have been received along with 1,682 no votes (42.29 percent).

The issue requires a minimum number of 2,390 'yes' votes to pass.

King County Elections last updated results on Friday and is not expected to post updated results until Tuesday, May 7 when final results are posted.
