No Enumclaw Candidates Breaking $5,000 in Campaign Expenditures, Yet

A check of the Public Disclosure Commission this week found that candidate Darrel Dickson reported the highest amount both in contributions and expenditures for his campaign, but then he was the only candidate who opted to fully report his financials.

Nine of the 10 candidates running in Enumclaw races have indicated that they would not be spending or raising more than $5,000 for their campaigns, according to forms they submitted to the state Public Disclosure Commission.Β 

In completing their candidate registration C1 forms, all nine candidates chose a mini reporting option when disclosing finances, which allows for them to not have to file frequent campaign reports as required by law and limits their fundraising and spending to $5,000 or less; similarly, choosing this option means they would not accept more than $500 in the aggregate from any contributor other than themselves.

Darrel Dickson, running for Position No. 2 on the Enumclaw City Council is the one candidate who instead opted to report his campaign finances fully; as of this past Tuesday, October 25, he has reported $7,100 in contributions and $4652.78 in expenditures. Of his total contributions, $7,000 were from his own personal funds; the amount is in line with what he reported he'd spend in his .Β

The remaining candidates are Dickson's opponent, ; Council Position No. 4 candidate and Council Position No. 6 candidate who are each running unopposed; Enumclaw School District Position No. 4 candidates and ; School District candidates , and April Schroeder who are each running unopposed; and Fire District No. 28 commissioner candidate David Hannity also runnung unopposed.

Though they did not have to report specific expenditures and contributions, the candidates did indicate their planned expenditures in their Patch profiles, clickable via the links in the preceding paragraph or to the right column of the page.Β
