Two Fire Districts, Two Proposition Ones, Which Affects You?
Both King County Fire Protection District 44 (Mountain View Fire and Rescue) and King County Fire District 28 (Enumclaw Fire) have placed ballot issues on the November 5th general election.

Both King County Fire Protection District 44 (Mountain View Fire and Rescue) and King County Fire District 28 (Enumclaw Fire) have placed ballot issues on the November 5th general election; both have been titled "Proposition One" by King County Elections. Mountain View and Enumclaw Fire Departments share a common border on the Enumclaw Plateau.
On 400th AVE SE, between State Hwy 169 and State Hwy 164, the north side of 400th is in District 44 and the South side in District 28. Both Districts work together to provide emergency services along this common border.
Those who live in each of these districts will be seeing a ballot measure related to their fire department in November. If you are not sure what District you live in, there are several ways for you to determine this.
- Your Property Tax Statement will identify the Fire District you are in.
- The King County Parcel View Map, on line can be used.
- Contacting either fire department during regular business hours.
- The ballot measure that arrives in your mail will be specific to your fire department.

About Mountain View Fire & Rescue / Black Diamond Fire Department
King County Fire Protection District #44 (KCFD #44) also known as Mountain View Fire & Rescue / Black Diamond Fire Department serves approximately seventy square miles in South King County. We serve The City of Black Diamond and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe but the majority of our area is unincorporated King County. KCFD #44 has volunteer firefighters, EMTs, and rescue personnel and career firefighters.
About Enumclaw Fire
EFD/KCFD28 provides emergency services to the city of Enumclaw as well as the surrounding rural plateau with combined population of more than 21,000 people in an area of 50 square miles. Fire and EMS services are provided from three fire stations. Primary services are provided from Headquarters/Station One (1) located at 1330 Wells Street and is staffed 24 hours per day by career firefighters and supplemented by volunteer personnel for night time hours. Station Two is located in Cumberland at 35421 Veazie-Cumberland Road. Station Three is located at 43404 212th Avenue South East. Both Station Two and Station Three are staffed utilizing a resident firefighter program.
