34 Enumclaw High School Musicians Make Mark at CWU State Competition

Enumclaw High School's Kaelynn Dirks and Alyssa Hudon also won first place with their violin duet, marking the first time in history that orchestra students from Enumclaw placed at the state competition.

We always appreciate hearing from parents in the community and want to give a big thanks to Monica Bainter for passing along the following write-up for Lynda Alley, Enumclaw High School's band and orchestra director:

Hard work, determination and lots and lots of practice are the makings of a state champion. Imagine this - 30,000 students in the state of Washington performing in their regional competition hoping to win the region in their category. If they win the region they are then given the prestigious opportunity to compete against the best at the state level in Ellensburg at Central Washington University. This is exactly what 34 EHS musicians did. This past weekend band, choir and orchestra students proudly represented themselves, the school and the great town of Enumclaw with superb performances. ALL the students received SUPERIOR RATINGS and two of those students, Kaelynn Dirks and Alyssa Hudon won 1st place with their violin duet making history as it is the first time any orchestra students from Enumclaw placed at the state competition. This is an even sweeter win for them as they are seniors! Congratulations to all of them!
