Early Dismissal for Enumclaw Schools Today

All schools in the Enumclaw School District are on early dismissal today, Monday, Feb. 28 due to snow and variable road conditions across the district, according to district news.

Enumclaw High School and Enumclaw Middle School dismissed at 12:15 p.m. Thunder Mountain Middle School dismissed at 12:30 p.m. All elementary schools will be dismissing at 1:30 p.m.

Similarly, spring sports try-outs are canceled today, as has the in honor of the EHS state champion wrestling team. The parade has been rescheduled for Monday, March 7.

At Enumclaw's , school remains in session, per normal hours.

According to the National Weather Service, rain and snow showers are forecasted for this afternoon, with temperatures reaching a high of 39 degrees. One to three inches of snow accumulation is possible.

Tonight, temperatures drop to around 33 degrees with another one to two inches of snow possible.

Jim Flisrand, city public works operations manager spoke to Patch at about 1:20 p.m. and said that the snow had stopped and temperatures were high enough that whatever remnants were still melting on the street. He had no reports of ice or other problem areas but indicated the snow had been falling heavily earlier this morning and may have affected visibility.
