Happy First Day of School!
Today, Tuesday, Sept. 3, marks the first day of the 2013-14 school year in the Enumclaw School District.
Supplies and new outfits have been purchased. Book bags are packed.
The first day of school conjures so many emotions: excitement, anxiety and the promise of an amazing year of growth and learning.
In his latest correspondence with district staff, Enumclaw Schools Superintendent Mike Nelson talked about routines and rituals that teachers and administrators made sure are part of their first day to ensure all students are off to a great start.
We know many parents have such routines too - not the least of which may be stopping at the district office, under the banner illustrated here, and having your kids pose for a picture.
