Sunset Festival of Bands Returns to Sumner Next Saturday, Oct. 27

Seven Western Washington schools have already committed to the competition: Auburn Mountainview, Bonney Lake, Chimacum, Enumclaw, North Thurston, Shelton, and the host band, Sumner.

For the fourth consecutive year the Sumner Spartan Marching Band will host the Sunset Festival of Bands Field Show Competition at Sunset Chev Stadium. Presented by the Sumner Band Parents Association, this festival grows each year and is a highlight of the fall event season.

Saturday, October 27 is a day for the whole family. Special Guests Seattle Seahawks’ Drumline BLUE THUNDER will perform midday, between the morning clinic performances and the afternoon competition phase. Participating bands from seven Western Washington schools have already committed: Auburn Mountainview, Bonney Lake, Chimacum, Enumclaw, North Thurston, Shelton, and the host band, Sumner.

Morning phase begins at 8:15 AM. Gates will open at 7:45. Competition phase begins at 1:00 PM.

Tickets are only $8 for adults, $5 for students/seniors and kids under five are FREE. A package rate of 4 tickets for $25 is a great deal for families. Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the event or from the Sumner Band Parents Association in mid-October.

This wonderful, music-filled day of entertainment is not only a learning and performance opportunity for the participating students, but also is a fundraiser for the Sumner Band Parents Association. You’ll enjoy a fabulous show while supporting the multi award winning Spartan Marching Band.

Hi, Susan and Lou. We do know that our events calendar has issues at the moment with incorrect timesRead More displaying, and our engineering team is at work to correct this. My best suggestion at the moment is to post a comment on an event with the correct time, if you aren't able to go in and edit an event that you previously posted. Our ownership has not changed -- we have been and continue to be a part of the AOL family. Our intent with the new design is to highlight the great content that our users create and share with the community. We know there have been some bumps with our launch and are working diligently to fix them. We hope you'll be patient with us and continue to share on Patch.

I agree the previous version was much better and I am not adjusting well to the new version at all.Read More Its definitely not a better layout. Also have had many problems with the events calendar which may not even be fixable.
