Sunset Festival of Bands Returns to Sumner Next Saturday, Oct. 27

Seven Western Washington schools have already committed to the competition: Auburn Mountainview, Bonney Lake, Chimacum, Enumclaw, North Thurston, Shelton, and the host band, Sumner.

For the fourth consecutive year the Sumner Spartan Marching Band will host the Sunset Festival of Bands Field Show Competition at Sunset Chev Stadium. Presented by the Sumner Band Parents Association, this festival grows each year and is a highlight of the fall event season.

Saturday, October 27 is a day for the whole family. Special Guests Seattle Seahawks’ Drumline BLUE THUNDER will perform midday, between the morning clinic performances and the afternoon competition phase. Participating bands from seven Western Washington schools have already committed: Auburn Mountainview, Bonney Lake, Chimacum, Enumclaw, North Thurston, Shelton, and the host band, Sumner.

Morning phase begins at 8:15 AM. Gates will open at 7:45. Competition phase begins at 1:00 PM.

Tickets are only $8 for adults, $5 for students/seniors and kids under five are FREE. A package rate of 4 tickets for $25 is a great deal for families. Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the event or from the Sumner Band Parents Association in mid-October.

This wonderful, music-filled day of entertainment is not only a learning and performance opportunity for the participating students, but also is a fundraiser for the Sumner Band Parents Association. You’ll enjoy a fabulous show while supporting the multi award winning Spartan Marching Band.
