Viewfinder: Enumclaw Class of 2012 Graduation

Commencement for the Class of 2012 took place at White River Amphitheatre on Monday.

This year's graduating class held a special place in principal Jill Burnes' heart as they were entering freshmen during her first year as principal of the school. Similarly, superintendent Mike Nelson reminded the class they were entering kindergarteners when he first began working in the Enumclaw School District 13 years ago.

Class speaker Jacob Kokko told his classmates, "Tonight, we are high school graduates. Tomorrow, we will be adults taking our first few steps into the rest of our lives."

Check out some sights and sounds we collected from Monday night in the accompanying slideshow: the audio is provided by the high school concert choir singing My Chemical Romance's "Sing" and seniors Reece Menzel and Dakotah Maxwell with Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of your Life)."

Always looking for a local nature trail, I really enjoy reading Mary Janosik's well written blog. InRead More fact, almost all the dedicated bloggers posting on the Enumclaw PATCH have something worthwhile reading. But it is not an easy job for most of us, taking some time to research and write, without any compensation. Our only reward is knowing we are being read and appreciated and the only way we know that is when you comment. In my opinion, most of the PATCH blogs are a community service, informing residents about our community and issues concerning you, our readers. So please send your favorite bloggers a thank you or a comment once in awhile to keep us motivated and feel appreciated..
