Patch Whiz Kid of the Week: Allison Bundy

Name: Allison Bundy, age 16

School/Organization: Though technically a student at Enumclaw High School, Allison spends her days at Green River Community College in Auburn taking college-level classes full time as part of Running Start. She aims to earn both an associate's degree and her high school diploma upon graduation. Outside of school, Allison is a student representative with Young Life and Wyldlife, according to Mike Iverson, area director for . She also volunteers with WonGeneration, a non-profit outreach group; she's just returned from a trip to Thailand in December as part of that group's work. For the past three years, Allison has served as head soccer coach for a club team of middle-school-aged boys -- the team earned first place last season. She is also a volunteer assistant coach for Enumclaw Middle School girls soccer.

On top of all of that, Allison holds down two part-time jobs at Total Sports Training and Gear Shop in Buckley, and at Bounce it Up! in Black Diamond.

Allison acknowledges her hectic schedule and says at times she wouldn't mind a break, but at the end of the day, "I enjoy all the stuff that I do. It's fun."

Biggest Accomplishment: Coaching, and earning her state E license to be able to coach select soccer in Washington state. There are various levels of licensing -- with A being at the professional level. "I have the first one, and for being 16, it's not common. It's one of the things I'm most proud of."

To earn the E license, Allison underwent a three-day clinic that involved coaching through drills and learning team dynamics and leadership. It's paid off with her club team of middle-school aged boys. "I got first place with my team last season, which ended in December. That's the team I coached for three years and we got first place."

Key to Awesomeness: "My mom has helped me a lot helping to plan and schedule things. That's one of the key things I can't slack on because then things start to crumble -- so time management. And support. I have a lot of support from my family and friends."
