Whiz Kid: Olivia Bannerot

The 14-year-old balances three sports along with her academic obligations, crediting her fellow teammates, family and friends with being her role models.

Patch Whiz Kid of the Week: Olivia Bannerot

Name: Olivia Bannerot, 14

School/Organization: Olivia is a freshman at Enumclaw High School where she has a 4.0 GPA. She has been involved with gymnastics since she was 2 years old and competed for  in Enumclaw until this summer. She gave up club gymnastics so she could participate in high school sports and activities. She played on the junior varsity volleyball team this fall and loved it. She was thrilled to find out that the high school was going to have a gymnastics team in the winter sports season and has really enjoyed competing for her school. As spring approaches,  Olivia is looking forward to track season and trying to decide what events sound fun. Olivia is proud to be an Enumclaw Hornet! She loves representing her school and admires the upperclassmen on her team. Olivia's other love is soccer. She plays on a premier team, the Cosmos, year-round and she was a guest player for a team this summer that competed internationally. Olivia scored a goal and had two assists as that team won a tournament in Italy.

Biggest Accomplishment: "My biggest accomplishment is juggling it all." She has been able to be a good student, good athlete and good friend. Olivia is excited to have won the all-around at Districts but is also excited for her team making state. "For Olivia, it's all about the team and her teammates and they all want that state title," said her mother, Joanne Bannerot.

Key to Awesomeness: "For me the key to awesomeness is doing what you love. If you don't enjoy it, then it isn't worth working so hard everyday of the week. Sports mean so much to me and in competitions or games, I pour my soul into it. Also, I love performing in front of crowds -- my coaches always told me that attitude is everything in gymnastics. I have such amazing role models in the upperclassmen, with friends and family."
