EHS Soccer Star Headed to Portland State

Senior Caitlin Plese signs letter of intent today.

Caitlin Plese, the Enumclaw High School senior named defensive MVP in the South Puget Sound League 3AΒ this year, is going to Portland State -- the decision confirmed as she signed her letter of intent this afternoon in the office of Athletic Director Kevin Smith.

Parents Mike and Kim Plese along with twin sister Kelly, who helped snap photos of the momentous occasion, watched as Caitlin signed the dotted line.

"We're very proud ... of both of them," Kim Plese said. Kelly, a cyclist, has yet to make a decision on where she'll head next year -- either way, the sisters will be attending different schools possibly in different states. "It'll be interesting with them apart; they're pretty close."

Though courted by other schools at the same time, Caitlin said she chose Portland State for their criminal justice program -- something she'd like to pursue.
