Enumclaw Football Foundation Addresses Bartel's Resignation

The Enumclaw Football Foundation thanks coach Don Bartel for his work with the program.

Amidst the news this week that Enumclaw High School head football coach Don Bartel has resigned his position, as reported in The Courier-Herald, the Enumclaw Football Foundation issued the following letter, dated March 13, to supporters, which was sent to Patch through the foundation's vice president of operations Tyson Gamblin.

Dear Enumclaw Football Supporters and Families,

As many of you have likely heard, Coach Bartel has submitted his resignation as the Enumclaw High School Head football coach. We would like to thank Coach Bartel for his hard work and tireless efforts in making Enumclaw Football the thriving entity it is today. The new turf field, new practice equipment at Pete's Pool, various camps, weight programs, weight room equipment, and the creation of a football booster club, along with developing partnerships with the Jr. Hornets and product vendors has been instrumental in improving the football culture in the Enumclaw plateau and we thank Coach Bartel for these efforts. The program itself has also grown in numbers, as more of our student-athletes have turned out for football, welcoming the challenge that Coach Bartel had to offer. As an educator, Coach Bartel was passionate about success in the classroom for our student-athletes, thus leading to the football program implementing the 2.5 GPA rule, which in turn the student-athletes responded positively and the percentage of players in compliance increased.
