On October 5th, local MMA fighter, Justin Harrington, will head off to the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA where he will headline Halquist Productions’ CageSport XXVII. Harrington will take his 5-0 professional MMA record into the cage where he will take on Lacey’s Harrison Bevens (6-1) for the vacant CageSport lightweight title.

Tickets for CageSport XXVII, set for Saturday, October 5th, are on sale now and can be purchased at the Emerald Queen Casino box office and through Ticketmaster. Prices start at $35.

Last month at CageSport XXVI, Bevens and Harrington fought on the undercard portion of the show, but left the showroom with all of the attention focused on them. Bevens won his fight via a spectacular third round KO, while Harrington defeated his opponent in less than two minutes with an arm triangle choke submission. After both of their fights were completed, promoter, Brian Halquist, brought both fighters into the cage and announced they would be fighting each other at the next CageSport event in October. Fans in the showroom immediately showed excitement for the fight and created a buzz by the time the night had ended.

Harrington will be going into the main event fight with all the momentum he could ask for. Along with starting off his professional MMA career with a 5-0 record, Harrington has won four of those fights in the first round. The fight between Harrington and Bevens looks to follow that pattern as Bevens has four first round stoppages of his own.

“I’m just real happy to be fighting for a title,” said Harrington about his upcoming fight at CageSport XXVII. “It’s going to be the toughest fight I have ever had, but that’s what excites me. I’m going to let it all go for 25 minutes because who knows when I’ll ever get this chance again.”

Standing in his corner will be former UFC fighter, Jeff Hougland, who owns the Combat Sport and Fitness gym where Harrington spends a majority of his time training out of.  Located right off of Highway 410 near Roosevelt Avenue, Combat Sport and Fitness has quickly grown into one of the more premier MMA gyms in the Northwest featuring some of the most talented MMA fighters in the area. Currently, Hougland has ten fighters training with him at Combat Sport and Fitness, and hopes to keep that number growing as his gym and his presence continues to strive.

Doors for CageSport XXVII will open at 6 PM with the first fight scheduled for 7 PM. Halquist Productions’ CageSport MMA series has quickly grown into the premier MMA promotion in the Northwest featuring ten professional fights catching the attention of MMA fans and promotions all around the United States. Current UFC fighters: Miesha Tate, Bryan Caraway, Sam Sicilia, and Michael Chiesa have all fought and succeeded on previous CageSport cards, which has become a goal of Halquist Productions, giving the fighters the opportunities they have earned.  For more information about CageSport XXVII and all other Halquist Productions events, please visit www.halquistproductions.com and the official Facebook and Twitter Pages of CageSport MMA and Battle at the Boat.
