Girls Water Polo: Enumclaw Falls to Bainbridge Island and Gig Harbor at State Tournament

Enumclaw faces Wilson on Thursday, at 7:30 p.m., at Lakes High School, in Lakewood.

The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team lost two games in the opening round of the State Water Polo Tournament on Wednesday, May 15 at Lakes High School.

The Hornets lost their first game, to Bainbridge Island, 10-6. Scoring for Enumclaw:

Hayley Sonneson - 2
Bella Davenport - 2
Anna Davenport - 1
Bailey Sexton - 1

In their second game, Enumclaw lost to the three-time defending State champion Gig Harbor Tides, 14-3.  Scoring for Enumclaw:

Sierra Clough - 2
Bailey Sexton - 1

The Hornets now fall into the consolation games, to determine 9th-12th in State. Enumclaw faces Wilson on Thursday, at 7:30 p.m., at Lakes High School, in Lakewood.

The Hornets will play their final game of the season on Saturday, May 18, at Curtis High School, in University Place. Game time will be 11 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. and will be against either Stadium or Auburn Riverside.
